Ethernet Virtual Private Line Service (EPL / EVPL)

Available from 10Mbps to 100Gbps full-duplex, our Ethernet services are well suited to high-capacity transport of any type of data flow between two or more points.

The EPL service
This service provides an Ethernet virtual connection (EVC) between a pair of dedicated user-network interfaces (UNIs) with a high degree of transparency.

The EVPL service
This service provides VLAN-based Ethernet Virtual Connection (EVC) that allows for extending the customer's LAN Network (LANex) to multiple sites while benefiting from advanced functionalities, as well as the resiliency of Fibrenoire's IP MPLS backbone network.

Standard delivery service

Standard configuration for different needs. With our EPL and EVPL services, you can choose the best topology to meet your requirements.

Strict levels of service for the delivery of packets and different applications in order to guarantee application performance while making efficient use of bandwidth.

The network architecture is scalable and the protocol does not require any major change to the service characteristics during bandwidth upgrading or the adding of sites. It’s not necessary to replace the existing infrastructure in order to expand your network.

Fibrenoire uses new carrier-class Ethernet technologies and a redundant and reliable network backbone. Continuous performance on all bandwidth and network topologies offers you high availability and failover capability.

Supports numerous standard options to meet requirements ranging from network configurations, performance characteristics and VLAN cartography to transparency; new network requirements can be stored without costly or complex network reconfigurations.

Support for future needs

A network structured to support a wide range of existing applications, as well as easily support new applications and maintenance service delivery in order to meet present needs and the requirements of future demanding applications.

The EPL / EPVL service is a Layer 2 service delivered to each site by local fibre optic loops routing traffic to Fibrenoire’s IP MPLS backbone network. Depending on the location of the sites to be connected and the availability of fibre optic capacity, Fibrenoire uses different local loop technologies.

Since EPL / EVPL is a Layer 2 service, our customers can fully manage their Level 3 activities (IP addresses, BGP, OSPF or any other routing protocol). They can themselves manage the type of priority traffic switched on the circuit, allowing them to prioritize different types of traffic without Fibrenoire’s intervention.

A proactive Service Level Agreement (SLA), including our SLA standards applicable to local loops and the IP MPLS backbone network.

MEF CE 2.0 Certification

MEF (Metro Ethernet Forum) is a global industry alliance comprising more than 220 organizations including telecommunications service providers, cable MSOs, network equipment/software manufacturers, semiconductors vendors and testing organizations. The MEF’s mission is to accelerate the worldwide adoption of Carrier-class Ethernet networks and services. MEF develops Carrier Ethernet architectural, service ,and management technical specifications and implementation agreements to promote interoperability and deployment of Carrier Ethernet worldwide.

Fibrenoire became the first MEF Carrier Ethernet 2.0 Certified telecommunication company in Canada in July 2013. This certification gives the assurance to our customers that our network is compliant with the highest standards of the industry.
